Manchester to Blackpool Challenge 2026

This year eight Preston Pedals’ members rode this challenging route from Manchester to Blackpool setting off at 6.00am from Preston and heading off from Salford Quays, BBC media city. They finished 60 miles later at South Promenade Solaris centre Blackpool at 3.55pm. Such a great achievement especially as several were doing it for the first time. It was a “fantastic day” cycling 60 miles in the sunshine for Christie’s charity.

Preston Pedals helped towards transport costs but it was the motivation and camaraderie that’s grown amongst these riders that made the day. Several are regulars on the social rides and some are ride leaders and spin buddies encouraging others to cycle in Preston.

Riders’ comments:

“I had a great time and managed to keep up the pace. 😜 Huge thanks to everyone for the advice and help while we were riding out…I had a great day and a great night’s sleep 😴”
