Donating can help contribute to:

  • Providing more bike repair and maintenance sessions.
  • Enabling a community cycling event.
  • Paying mechanics to refurbish bikes.
  • Enabling us to offer volunteering opportunities.
  • Supporting a led ride.
  • Increasing our cycling advocacy work.

What happens to donated bikes?

When you donate a bike to Preston Pedals, our qualified and experienced mechanics refurbish them, giving them a new lease of life so they can be re-used by someone else. We sometimes gift bikes to people and groups who need them, which provides them with low cost sustainable transport, often involving them in repairing the bike so they don’t just receive a bike, they learn how to take care of it.

We also sell a selection of the bikes that we refurbish, and this is invested back into Preston Pedals to continue our work promoting cycling across Preston.

Become a Volunteer

Volunteer with us to make a difference in our local community.

We are building an active cycling community in Preston, bringing people together to fix bikes and having fun on social rides! We’d love to hear from you if you share our passion for seeing more people cycling in Preston.

There are plenty of ways to volunteer, from fixing bikes at Dr Bike events, supporting our hands-on workshop based activities, supporting a led ride to community facing outreach projects and advisory roles. Whether you want to hone current skills or learn something new, we are here to support and help you thrive in your volunteer journey.
